NOTTIFF Short wins BAFTA!
NOTTIFF 2016 Best UK Short winner Operator has gone on to win the BAFTA award for Best British Short Film 2016.
Rebecca Morgan the producer of the short attended the 2016 Nottingham International Film Festival and took part in a Q and A after the screening. Rebecca who studied at the University of Nottingham was delighted to be back in the city to show her film. The film stars Kate Dickie as an emergency services call operator and follows a 6 minute call where she has to help a woman who wakes to find her house is on fire.
Programming director Deborah Jones said "Operator is such a strong short, it grabs you from the off and doesn't let go. There were lots of strong shorts at NOTTIFF 2016 but the Jury were unanimous in naming Operator the best UK short and we're delighted that BAFTA agree with us!"
NOTTIFF will be back in 2017 with more amazing short and feature films from the world of independent film.
