NottIFF2016 Press Release for the Inaugural Official Selection

‘The Queen of the Midlands’ is ready to embrace the ethos of her most famous son and bring the riches of international film to the fair people of one of the U.K’s most historical cities.

The very first Nottingham International film Festival will take place throughout the city over a three day weekend from the 7th to the 9th of October 2016, which will be centred at the city’s fabled art deco cinema THE SAVOY. The festival hub will be at German cinema themed venue DAS KINO, where the opening night launch party will take place, showcasing all the trailers of the official selection on Friday 7th October from 7.30 pm.

Nottingham’s moto of ‘virtue outlives death’ is as bold as the many stories that have been told about this world famous city. Its rich history of story will be at the very core of a film festival that will seek out original narratives from around the world. A sister festival to both the Manchester and Oxford film festivals, NottIFF is steadfast and determined to make its own international film festival one that can stand up and be counted within the international film community.

The official selection was announced today and features exciting world and U.K premieres of feature length and short films from world cinema that portray everything from gripping indie thrillers to intriguing documentaries.
