The inaugural Nottingham International Film Festival’s first venue is announced!

In keeping with Nottingham’s rich story telling histrionics, NottIFF 2016, in partnership with Savoy, will host its very first edition in the only pre-second world war cinema to exist in the city. The Savoy Cinema was built in 1935 to designs by Reginald Cooper and following a grand opening on 7th November 1935 by ‘Lenton Picture House Ltd’, the venue has been on a trailblazing journey that matches the inspiring presence of the building itself. From its first film – ‘The Flirtation’ with Dick Powell to its modern day outlook, the Savoy Nottingham will make the perfect showcase to house contemporary world and UK premieresfrom around the world in September 2016.
